DK grouping in very nice condition

Today I have this nice DK in gold grouping. It´s directly from the vet´s family and everything is in very nice condition. I try to find out more about the DK recipient. Is it possible to say more about the shoulder boards?

Nice condition. What is the maker for each? The shoulderboard is for wwi? I think the guy was in high rank in wwii.

yes I also think the boards are ww1. Perhaps he was in ww1 before or the family found only this boards and it´s from his brother, father or something else....

                  Nice group!
The shoulderboards are for a prussian infantry captain in WWI.
                  Regards, Alex

Unfortunately there are no papers and photo left. I asked the daughter of the vet because of her maiden name and her father´s name. It was "Kurt Walter". Is it possible to find out if this man is listed in any dk award listing?

I know that I am going very far.... but this "kurt walter" from 11./Infanterie-Regiment 32 also won the Oakleaves to the Knight's Cross.... and is well documented!!!

And he entered service in the Reichsheer, and was commisioned Leutnant 1. september 1934 in IR. 32. Might very well be the same man!

you are right! I just had a look it´s an oak leaves holder. mmhh, I don´t know if it is the right story or perhaps there is another Kurt Walter...? I don´t know if it´s true. I have got no documents. And if it is the DK of this oak leaves holder I´m wondering why the family had no KC and no oak leaves.... Walter was missing in action on 27.06.44. Perhaps that´s a reason that there was no KC and not oak leaves.However...no documents and so it´s just a normal dk grouping without provenance
