    Deumer SB EK1 study

    hello EKs collectors,

Handling my SB Deumer EK1 , I decided to post a small study of the different types I know . As I only have few variations (compared to pin back ones), it will be quick...
This study will be w/o pretention and is only to help me to obtain more info from you and to help future owner of Deumers

this small study is based on observation of my own samples and much more I handled in the last year. Of course there is probably mistakes or missing variations in this study but the goal is that you give your comments, observations , contradictions & provide pics of other variations you can have.

Please wait I finish the first part of the study before giving your comments (I will give you the "TOP" )

    Michael

Sorry for the purists but I will use the Word Schinkel to name Eks of the WW1 design for both versions 1914&1939

    3 types of variations

Typ A : Schinkel form with Sunburst screwplate
Typ B : WW2 design with Sunburst screwplate
Typ C : WW2 design with Normal screwplate

4 type of screwback device :

SB device Type 1 : Rounded end, Thin
SB device type 2 : Rounded end, Thick
SB device type 3 : Rounded end, Thick on a round base (specifics to non magnetic crosses)
SB device type 4 : Flat end, Thick

    Know combinations :

    A1,A2,A3
    B2, B3
    C4

    observations :

    - device 3 is used only and is the only one used on non magnetic Deumer EK1
    - anti rotating pin is only used on type C (and on some "rare" type 1)
    - only type C is known with mm (L/11)
    - I handled very few non magnetic type C

    some raised question :

    - Known SB "1914" typ B & C ?

    - Known SB with flaws (dots) in the number « 1939 » ?

            CASES :

            - I don't know any case for typ A & B

            - 1 only know 2 type of cases for Type 3 (both LDO cases) confirmed with L/11 mark. Both exact type are confirmed to have been used for pin back Deumer EK1 & EK1 Spangen
