Hello all,

What is the story with a ribbon like this? I don't really like how worn the cross is but the ribbon is not. This is coming out of Belgium, perhaps an issued piece worn after the war by the Vet?

i could be wrong but dont the spanish awards have a pin like that?

Hi Wiliam ,
this type of fixing was favoured by the french for some of their medals i.e "Croix de Gurre " and has been seen on some german medals of the period .

Not possible to date when the medal or fixing was put to-gerther.
