    Dealer's Display Card

    Hi Folks,
The family of my friend who passed away found what I think is a salesman display/sample card. Can you tell me it it is one and who the manufacturer was?
Thanks in advance for any information you can proved.
    Regards,
    John

The card is from Wilhelm Deumer of Lüdenscheid.

You can see their "D/cricket" logo in the upper right corner, and their distinctively shaped Iron Cross and Spange.
    Best regards,
    Streptile

These were sold at the end of the war to US Veterans with a sheet that had the numbers with the names of the awards on them for identification.
The Germans never threw anything away.

Great 'ready made' collection - love the Spanish Cross.

The card is a placemat from the company lunchroom, used after the war to mount leftover stock for sale to occupying soldiers. Some think only S&L was involved in this practice, but in reality virtually all of the of the manufacturers in Ludenscheid (and their employees) participated. Lord only knows how much "stuff" was left around. This is a nice example.

But thats not mean that all he awards on the card are made by Deumer, for example their company never made close combat clasps, but many other Lüdenscheid maker did.

Great card, I love these things. you don't find too many around anymore. I wonder what was in the #10 spot?

                  John,

I too have had a Deumer card (there must have been quite a stockpile of them in the factory) but mine didn't have anything as rare as yours:

i guess buying a set like this would be easier than digging through the mounts of awards at the reichstag. (at the end of the war)

I think 10 can only have been an EKII mounted below the EKI.

Possibly but with those two loops like that?

I would tend to War Merit Cross 1st Class or another pin backed award. Great to speculate though.

Great board by the way, they hardly ever turn up intact.

I'll speculate, too. Judging from the color of the board around the vacant spot, I'd say a Wound Badge.
