    Thanks Roy-

I guess I thought a fake is a fake. It looks nice, but that big old dip on the three detracts a little.

Tom, look at the lovely patina on Jack's cross....it would look great in a display or on a form! Better than anything made today and yes it is a repro but they were sought out early on for their 'quality' and authentic method of manufacture.

As Roy rightly said..many have sold as original and continue to do so.

Another "plus" to these crosses is that many were accompanied by original ribbon and to a lesser degree the very rarely seen 40mm ribbon.

Taken solely as it is ( a reproduction ), that has been around for decades....if one can't afford a pre '45 this might be the type to own as they do command a certain dollar amount and goes up each time we view one!

One way of looking at these pieces is that if RS made RK's during the Third Reich period this is what it would have looked like.

Does anyone know when Souval started cranking these pieces out?

              Souval

I know they were making them in the late 1960s--I bought one back then but traded it back to the dealer after a year or two for something else. It came in a decent copy of a case as well.

What do you think of the ribbon on Jack's example?
I think he may have a good one.

Good eye, Roy! Could be and wouldn't that be a kick with the bloody ribbon more valuable than the cross!!

Jack, don't give up on this one yet....
