Bought a reproduction Mecklenburg-Schwerin picklehaube from them, and they stated it was made from some original componants. I highly doubt it, and when my father opened it at Christmas (I was in Afghanistan at the time - did it over webcam), the spike was bent from poor packaging. I asked them for a refund of at least the shipping and never heard back. Not doing business with them again.

It would not be the 1st dealer pulling this off ...

Recently I came across a DKiG sold by one dealer for amount X and then back for sale with another dealer for amount X + 15% ( ??? ).

Or a postwar RK sold ( with COA ) by one dealer to another dealer who added another 100 € to it ...

But who can blame them, they are just trying to make living here ... and most of time not in our favour ...

I just wanted to confirm some things on this case...

I am sure this EK was on hold as it was on hold for me !

As some of you are already knowing I recently faced to a Troyan Virus on my computer & was many weeks w/o the Net. My main fear was that that some sensible datas & paaswords where robbed. I am only back with my emails from very few, trying slowly to answer to each of you.

As I wasn't able to recieve & answer to their emails, then they put the EK back for sale. I can't reproached them, I can only regret having missed it to a good price.

I only dealed once before with this company, of course knowing what I was buying because of fakes on their site too, and I was fully satisfied of their service. Of course it is only mine & one experience.


Hope this clarify the situation...

I never read anything negative about Beck so far, bought some items there myself and it went flawless.
You really have to know what you buy though, because the description is wrong in about 50% of the items.

Michael, I still have the mails from Beck that it was on hold for Beuwulf, maybe the put it on hold for you later that weekend?
I don't know.
But I DO know it wasn't sold, but re-listed for a much higher price.
In this case very stupid because it's a pretty unique item, not a regular ek.

But maybe it is still for sale, they did offer it to me, but not at the price that I could have gotten it for over a week ago.

Not only did they deny that this was the same cross (at first) but they also claimed they had a 10% discount instead of 20% .
So I guess I must be lying about that as well.....

Anyway, as I already said before, I will not buy there again.

I know they all have to make a living, I know you pay more then at an auction or from a fellow collector, but I hate to be ripped off on an item that gets marked up again with 200e because at some point they realize that it's a rare item.

I would have expected SOME reaction from Beck, because their e-mail was clear enough ("taking further steps if the thread is still there later today" etc.)

Mark, the prices for these cloth ek are all over the place, they range from 300 (if you are lucky) to a whopping 1500 euro.

Beck Militaria is one of the worst sellers of reproductions, fakes and complete crap i saw during my 25 years of collecting, not to mention their fantasy prices on real stuff.

They are obviously in this game to make money and nothing else, just can't believe they do not have any basic knowledge at all.

Didn't they have an account here as well? Im pretty sure they've read the first topic and saw it was worth more. When the first seller didn't take it they saw a chance to earn more. Not a nice thing to do.

Just like the spike helmet above here, recently on a dutch forum there was the story of them selling a dagger, the guy buying it discovered to his "surpise" a big dent in the cabbard when opening the packet. Conveniently "forgotten" to photograph by Beck Militaria... Getting the money back was appearantly not an easy thing. NOT good business!

They play a bit bigger as they are, but have in reality service like **** and no knowledge. Or...sell fakes on purpose to unsuspecting buyers!
