Dot Pattern Juncker RK in Group

I was playing with my Knight's Crosses and just discovered my Knight's Cross with Oak leaves is the Dot pattern Juncker. This group of medals was surrendered on May 8th, 1945 when Kurt Lau, Karl Kennel, another unidentified officer and their crews surrendered to the American of the 405th Fighter Group at Kitzengen, Germany. The made several looping flights and crashlanded so the Americans would know they were surrendering. I have been trying to identify the officer, with his back to the camera.

Those are great looking pieces, Bob! And your discovery of the "dot" is a real winner!

The surprise is the Luft NCO, on the very right proudly wearing his Infantry Assault Badge!

Hi Bob, I remember when you posted those many years ago...as I remember, the story of how you got these is just as interesting as the medals. Great items
