I will not speak about the cross and the eichenlaub, just about the preliminary certificate.
This is a good one even if there is a mistake in the awarding date (17.1.1945 instead of 17.3.1945). This is sometimes encountered on such documents.

Did your friend get Sepp Brandner´s other awards?
How about the General assault badge 100?
I know that he had everything left, including the award citation to the 100 badge!

I know that Brandner wore his cross after the war, at veteran´s meetings and so on and that explains the heavy wear, IMO.
