I believe that this is an authentic badge, but I would like verification. None of the other photographs I see of this cross on the Internet have the bottom plate, circled in red. What do you think?

That rectangle means a repetition of the badge. Recipient was awarded twice the Cross. Sometimes, in the rectangle was engraved the date.
BTW, that's not a SCW period made badge and not the type awarded to Legion Condor (they got Egaña made crosses). The one shown looks of the 60's INHO.
