EK1 - Frontline Manufacture

Hey Guys,

ive have added this in my collection, a little ugly but there was something i liked about it. Could anyone let me know what maker it is?? Also Why would the soldiers convert their EK2 into EK1 like this.

Sometimes there were no EK 1's available, so they used what they could.

Not sure of maker.
