First a question: Is the small ring on the cross attached on both sides, or just the front? It is hard to tell from the photo. I do not mean the ring the ribbon passes through, but the small ring the larger ring passes through.

The cross looks like two of mine, one of which is marked and with its original packet (and award document plus four others to the same man, but that's another story).
