Nice, original, early, K&Q KC. I don't know if the case in one of the K&Q type (as many are marked to K&Q), but I'm betting that it is authentic.

I agree about your thoughts on the case not belonging to this cross.. the wear and tear dont match even closely. Both I believe are original and an excelent find nontheless!
