    EK 1 Paul Meyhauer

    Hi everyone,

I have this EK 1 from my grand father who traded it with a german soldier in 1945 in France. He gave him some butter to get this cross.

Well that was the story, now I would like to know who is the maker. I saw in the Wehrmacht Awards website the different makers for EK1 and it looks like a Paul Meyhauer making. Can you confirm it ?

    Thank you !

              Ok thank you guys !

I show you the EK2 "122" made by JJ.Stahl that was traded by the same german soldier for butter. So this cross and the EK1 were both from this soldier.

I agree a nice Meybauer with the typical 7 mark and a nicely marked Stahl

                      Thank you.
If it is really Meybauer with a "b" and not a "h" so there is a mistake on the website.

Yep a mistake! Beautiful Meybauer with typical ugly 7 maker mark and beautifull everything else! That cross it a beauty and I wonder when the pin was sharpened? Probably post war as lot's of people think the Germans pushed the pin through the fabric LOL!
I often wonder why the firm made such a high quality cross yet continued using that punch stamp when marking the pins, I have an example that if you did not know better you would think the MM is a blemish! Nice EKII also!~
                        Best Regards!
