Iron Cross for Review

I obtained a group of medals along with some personal items from an 8th Armored Division vet. I purchased the lot for the soldier's helmet. I know nothing about medals; but, this iron cross concerned me. The manufacture is extremely crude. Makes me wonder if it is authentic... What say ye? Thanks in advance!

Well please do post any possible buys here for review, there are alot of sharks selling fakes out there and your back is covered here by posting nice clear and close photos as you have in this thread!!!

What material is it made of?

The way it's "broken" or chewed , I'd say lead or some other soft metal.

Certain dealers would sell that cross saying a German soldier had to bite on that while they amputated his arm on the battlefield !!!
