The Knight's Cross is a beautiful Juncker L/12 that would make anyone tickled pink.

I like this set very much, but I will leave our Dietrich to investigate the Oak Leaves and see how they compare to the plethora of L/12 marked oak Leaves he has studied.

To me the Oak Leaves look fine, but I will certainly defer to Dietrich's expertise.

You have to sign in on Thies's site, at least that's what I did.
                  WoW! What a beautiful set!

I love the way it comes with a few signed photos -- not of Dickfield, but of his cross

By the way it's a beautiful cross.
                    Best regards,

I also think the Oakleaves are fine (and beautiful). Hopefully, Dietrich will confirm.

P.S. Closed and soldered loop to prevent separation?

I am the former owner of this set. My friend purchased them directly from Dickfeld in 1998 with a written affadavit from him as well as the signed photos of the cross and his formal oakleaves document. The rest of his items still remain with the family. Dietrich has seen them and even written an article in the last issue of his magazine on them calling them the "real" L/12 oakleaves. A beautiful and original set of L/12 oakleaves (and L/12 cross) that Dickfeld stated was the original set of oakleaves that he received directly from Hitler at the Wolfschanze. I am very surprised that the new owner is selling them already as he only bought them a year ago. I would love to have them back.

Here are some photos that I had taken when I owned it. The loop is soldered closed as Dickfeld stated in his affidavit that while exiting the cockpit of his plane in Russia he caught the cross on the frame of the cockpit and the cross was pulled from his neck and the loop snapped. It was re-soldered closed by one of his mechanics and he wore it this way for the remainder of the war. It is very interesting to note that Dickfeld emphatically stated that he received the L/12 marked oakleaves as his official award piece.

What Thiess auction is this set in, not his last auction (March)? I did not see it there. I can not open the link either. Is this in an upcoming auction?

One of the 5 photos of the cross signed by Dickfeld, also came with a written and signed affidavit.
