marked L/18 for B.H. Mayer's Hofkunstprägeanstalt, Pforzheim
There's even a good deal of frosting left , an EK by the book imo

Better close ups of the cross posted would be a plus but by looking at the beading of this one compared to the copy L/18.......

The core is magnetic and it's a bit loose, don't know if that helps a lot :s,
didn't even know there were ek2 fakes like these

I don't think the EK is the traditional L/18 fake -- but it's a bit hard to tell what the EK is from these photos. I think it's a good EK, but with a fake L/18 mark, since it is not the Mayer type of EK. The fake L/18 mark is so close to the original that only the cross can really be used to determine if it's a correct package.

I was fooled by one of these not to long a go (still not good at ek2) , but got warned timely.
These copies are very convincing, and of course everyone wants an L/18....

@Herr Fritzkopf: I hope you can return it and get your money back.....

Those L/18 fakes seem to be catching alot of people out. They are the most annoying fake EK2 IMO

Getting my money back won't be necessary imo, my dad gave it to me after a friend of him had given it to him the day before. sounds logical now, no sane person would give a genuine EK away i suppose...

The Mayer "1939" is very distinctive and looks almost like a Deumer date. It's next to impossible to find an EK2 with that core.
