Large cast iron Iron Cross......for what?

This may not be the proper place for this, since it is a WW1 EK; however I thought I would try it here. My assumption is that it was a "sign" of sorts for a place that sold decorations........however that is only an assumption based on pure guess. When I got it at the fleamarket in Germany years ago, it came with some other things all from WW2.

The last photo is to show some idea of size......compared to a WW2 EK2.

What might you know about what it is?

Whatever it is, I love it.

I'd guess it's more of a monument marker, or adornment for a cemetery gate, or maybe something from a veteran's organization meeting hall, something like that. A shop sign is a possibility also, of course.

That's superb! I could imagine that in a veterans parade or something. I bet it would be impossible to replace
