The cross shown has the distinctive "Oval" plates atributed to Schickle. And like both of mine it is marked L15.

Orth marked there cross 15 and used a plain block hinge without a base plate of any sort as shown in this collage of my Orth cross.

The cross in post 1 is a orth die and not a shickle die imo.
Am i right or wrong.??
Did orth supply shickle, crosses without the hardwear???

There's another one of these L15 KVK1s on e-stand right now, described as a "Schickle". But Schickle went out of business in 1941 before zinc was used (at least for combat badges for which there are no zinc examples), so Friedrich Orth certainly is the more logical attribution.

Unless there's something I don't know about -- was zinc used much earlier for KVK production unlike all the combat badges?
