George, your is really so closed that don't permit another way to place the cross.
A question: why have you doubts about the tri-mounts ? it was used during the WWI too.
Yes George ,..... they can be tricky . I had started a file 10 years ago which was lost with my first hard drive crash . Never replaced it , as the pictures were no longer available ... so going by memory .... there are something like 2or 3 post war fake types that used original ribbons . It is all in the shape of the ribbon fold and the type, material and size of the grommet used as well as the connecting ring .
Very cautiously mentioning this .... I think this is one of the post war types.... I am not sure though , I last had the file 8 years ago and cannot remember the mesurments .
Why would a medal be mounted in the style of a country (Austria) that basically ceased to exist upon its annexation into the Grossdeutches Reich over a year before the institution of the medal? And has anyone seen a photo of an EK 2 (or of any other German Third Reich-era award) being worn in such a fashion? I'd be glad to see one.
there were over 1 mil. over austrian soldiers in wehrmacht, and there is not much of those crosses. They were not so brave or what??
Or maybe it was just personal style of folding for some traditionalists ?
