    KVK1 mm65 on E-stand

Believe the KVK1 in this thread on the E-stand should be discussed: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=510199

To compare here's a pic of how the reverse of a tombak mm65 should look like imo.

We already discussed one of them in the past and I still didn't like it.
    IMO a FAKE

The EKII seems like the ribbon ring öse has been reattached at some point.
It looks like there are solder in the ribbed area of the frame and looks repainted too...IMO.

PS These pictures is also from the E-stand sales thread

KVK seems not like 65 imo (by the maker mark) 65 maker had very distinctive maker mark..

            Hmmmmm......

I saw that KVK65 and thought it was a fake also. I posted one of these things
a year or so ago and it was said to be fake. My question was, what material
is it made out of. It's not zink or tombak so unless someone can say for sure.
            I say fake.

It's hard to tell what material it is just from the pics but imo they're trying to emulate a tombak cross as the 65 K&Q zinkers have integrated catch and hinge.....

                Gentlemen,

I bought this KvK 1. Klasse some weeks ago from the E-stand!
Is this supposed to be a fake one too? If this is the case, I'll try to get my money back as soon as possible!!

                Thanks in advance, cheers,

                Flecktarn!

Or, now I'm looking at the date, IS this actually the discussed KvK?

I never saw this thread before, cause I don't remember there was a message in the E-stand topic, that this KvK was being discussed.

                        Hi All,

I am the one who sold the KVK together with a lot of other medals to Fleck...
I had absolutely no idea the KVK was a fake as i bought it myself from another member on this forum together with some other KVK's. I didn't even know there was an older post about it. As i have absolutely no knowledge about medals (yes i'm that one that still buys in good trust ) i honestly thought the enitre lot was ok. When i've bought the KVK it was on the e-stand for a while already with no comments so...
Ofc i can't remember who i've bought it from and since the chance that the one who sold it to me will read this and contact me is nihil i guess it's a lesson learned
I'll make sure Fleck gets compensated and again my apologies!
                        Tom

I am with Flemming on the EK2 . Seams that frame has been opened at one time and painted core . A frame die that did survive the war .

Tom and I arranged it, so everything solved!
Good to see there are still some honest people around, who accept their mistakes without a doubt and want to work everything out as soon as possible!

Thanks again Tom, for your truely great service, wish I could say that about everyone I had trouble with (thank god, not many)! You're a great guy!

I should have watched out better myself too, cause the photo's were sharp enough, I just didn't take the time for a closer look, since this one is a scary good fake and seems so damn real!

                            Cheers, Flecktarn!

Well thank you very much aswell Fleck for dealing with the matter the way you did.
Now that i have a bit more time i've read this post again and i think you have a very good point in your quote.

Apparently someone saw on April 2Oth that the kvk was bad and it takes more than a month before i get a notice about it thanks to Fleck's message. If i'd been warned about it the same day (there were enough responses) i could have withdrawn it from the lot and no harm was done...
There's no harm done now aswell as i've arranged everything with Fleck but only thanks to Fleck who's a very nice and patient person with some common sense as it took me 5days before i even could reply to his message about the fake KVK due to a little trip out of town. I can imagine other situations that could have happened if the person isn't as patient, or if i should have been gone for 2weeks or more... And no i never check my mails while i'm on vacation.

Must be the kick of spotting a bad one is more important then warning the seller.
Or the buyer for that matter cuz if Fleck hadn't posted the kvk for review he would probably never noticed it? Come to think of it, when i've bought it on the e-stand there might have been a topic about it aswell which i've missed, there wasn't any warning when it was offered for sale, that's for sure...

Anyway as i said, it's a lesson learned... from now on i won't be selling/buying anything again before having it put up for confirmation first.
Hopefully people will be warned a bit faster in the future when someone spots a bad item. If i would spot an item that could be bad i'd inform the seller first and ask him if he's sure the item is 100% correct and in doubt give him the opportunity to post his item for review instead of just going around his back, get your moment of glory and ignore the outcome of the situation.
Trust me, newbies to collecting like myself KNOW alot of u have a great knowledge about militaria and can spot a bad item from a mile away so instead of being fast in reporting plz try to be a bit faster in preventing

                              Kind regards,
                              Tom
