Knights cross core, to be or not to be?

I have bought this core a few weeks ago together a few EKII frames and so on.

My first thought was also that this core was made for an EKII.

But yesterday I have tried to fit it in an EKII frame and, as you expect, it was much to big.

This core was heavy covered with rust, but after a cleaning, the rust scares are still visible, the core is shining through.

I am a collector with less experience in this expensive pieces, so I would like to ask here, is it a good one or a bad one?

    Thanks for any help here.

    Matt

                  Hi Andy,

No need to say sorry, I was asking for opinions, so there is no reason to be upset or so.

                  Thanks

                    Hi Matt,

You've done a great job showing good photos and presenting the necessary data -- that's a lot more than we often get from folks asking for opinions

Unfortunately the core is a known fake -- maybe even a cast of a fake. The biggest problem is the design of the date. It is unknown on originals.
                    Best regards,
                    Streptile

                      Hi Trevor,

Thank you for your kind words, quality; statistic and data are my job.

I was asking for facts, so I have to give you all what is possible to get a qualified answer.

                      Once again, thank you.

There is one thing that I have forgotten to say, the core is magnetic....
