    Deumer EK1 in packet ...

    Hi,

I just wanted to share some new pics of a recent arrival of the beginning year, one of my favorite addition in my Deumer Family
(I had searched this one for a long time, thanks to Jim )

I will be interested to see other similar packets & especially the crosses inside...

Nice indeed ..... ! Any EK1 packet is rare sight .
I would guess a mater of cost choice / economics ... not wanting to buy a case with it . Wonder who else offered a EK1 packet .

I don't know the reason of those packets. Probably a late war attempt to propose more economics distribution way but very strange that it is so rare if done to do mass economies (maybe were they forbiden/not authorized ???).
If only know/heard from very few of them.
I first thought few where made but never awarded but I remember few years ago, on SDA forum someone showing one obtained from family of an awarded soldier

I only know EK1 packet from this maker, and one from K&Q with the "1" overprinted with a "2" (Error ?) I have in my collection...

Seeing that interesting '1' over print for the first time and the rarity .... to me would indicate a temporary/emergency measure only .... do to shortage of cases I would guess .
