EK1 question ... can you help me????

    hi there!!
I recently purchased a cased EK1 (unmarked and magnetic) and it has a rare feature to me. I mean, 9 - 12 - 3 o'clock arms have little bit raised centres. don't know how explain it ... concave. photo does not show it properly.

all previous EK1 I owned (not an expert in this field as I take them just for tunic display) had flat arms.

is this correct??? ... if yes, can this characteristic identify the maker???

To identify the maker would be much easier if you post a straight photo from the observe and the reverse.

don't look for the maker, mainly.
want to know if the mentioned feature is correct.

I have found this feature on Juncker crosses. The centers of the core arms are raised slightly (convex). The core arms look 'crowned'. It is especially noticeable when you lay a flat piece of paper on the crown; only the center of the core arm comes in contact with the paper.

            Hi pep,

IMO it is easier to identify the maker by frame, date, hardware etc.

What's the use of identifying ek1 maker by the core being concave or not?

I say it again. NOT my MAIN interest identify the maker. just to know if the mentioned characteristic it's OK to original period cross. but, if this feature tells about the maker, that's better.

I said it wrong ... you're wright, ROBERT P. ... must say CONVEX iron core. this is placed on usual flat frame.
thanks ROBERT for your input. will try to study about the juncker's ones.
              anymore opinions???

Here is a photograph illustrating the paper on the core to show the convex feature. I know it's hard to see in this photo but the paper is touching just the crowned area of the iron core...

                The cross is a Juncker.
