    EK1 Spange

I know next to nothing about these. Is this one good? Is this the right forum for this? What is the value?

Let me first say, this is my 300th posting!
and secondly, I'm not nearly up to date with my spanges as I should be...
but IMHO, this looks either OK, or a super-fake I really should know about.
It matches up with quite alot I have on file, as original. But saying that, I like to see the numbers almost 'going into' the frame, to be sure.
I may have missed discussions of late regarding these 'L/18 BHMayer' examples, and if this turns out to be fake, I'll start all over again filing away pics of 'real' ones...
No help I know, but perhaps we'll both learn something here
      best regards
      Jon

I thought it was a mayer too before I even read the reply from John - I think it's ok.

Thanks for your help. What is the approximate value?

I bought mine around 18 months ago for £125.00 which I think was a steal - I'd expect to pay £150? although I always scout around to see what the average price tends to be. I've put a pic of my spange in which I believe to be a mayer too.

Reverse - the needle also points to the viewers right.

Great comparison pics Jon, thanks. One thing I noticed on mine is that small arrow coming down next to the top of the "3". I don't see that on yours.

                      not mine (if only), Seigfried's...
yes I saw the 'arrow', but even the minute pebbling matches up, I'm sure you could put this down to 'debris' in the die? die flaw? damage/ding?
let's see if another member can show another example to compare...
