This is a style of EK2 I have always wondered about. I think I started a thread about this type (unmarked) some time ago, and no one knew the maker. I think it's a very nice design -- one of the nicest unmarked EK2s I've seen. I've never seen one of these marked.
So it's one of those small mysteries, like the "5" EK2. Is it really a good period mark? Or is it postwar? As with the "5" I think this one is a risk at this point. But if I were offered it, I would buy it, knowing the risk.
One question I would ask the guys in the Cases & Packets forum (Thomas H, Allan Pilch, and Marcus Hatton) is whether they have ever seen an EK2 Packet stamped for Ferdinand Hoffstadter Bonn a. Rhein .

Looking for ROUND BUTTON 1939 EK1 Spange cases (LDO or PKZ)
I remember a few of these 8 marked crosses appeared on Philipp Militaria
site about two or three years ago. I was going to buy one but did,nt
have much confidence in them
