    Iron Cross First Class, "20".

    Hi All,
This is an item I got out of a vet lot recently.
Is there anything more you can tell me about it after giving it a looksee with you trained eyes?
    Medals are not my area.
I have no idea how the hinge an catch could have gotten bent.
    It is marked "20".
    Thanks for your help.
    Derek

    Hello there,

Looks like a period Zimmerman to me.

      William,
Thank you. Does the type of 'pin' on the rear indicate anything? Basically, is it something to do with this specific manufacturer or did the styles change as the war went on? I've just seen a variety of styles so thought I'd ask.
The German combat awards/medals sure are fantastic, now I can more fully appreciate why so many collect them. Very cool stuff.

Nice one, Zimmermann used only this type of pinback variant.

          What about Godet?

            Hi Richard,

sorry maybe I was dubious. I mean Zimmermann didn't used any other pinback variant durint the war, but of course Godet, and I think Deumer used this too.
