In my opinion it is much too crudely designed and made to be a genuine Spange -- unless it was made at the front in lieu of presentation of the real thing.

Okay guys thanks for all your opinions.

My entire time on the forum is spent looking at items, that are put up for opinions, and, when the item is good, everyone loves to describe it as "Textbook".

I found this spange, in an iron cross reference book, you know the nice one for over $300.

I am attaching pics of the pages from this reference that shows my spange as an orininal.

So then now, what do you call this if not "textbook"??

                regards
                Jan

Jan, by textbook is meant that it is the way that it should be from a specific maker.

If an item is pictured in a book it doesn't make the item original.
Books are written by people, and they make mistakes as well, like all of us.

I really don't like the clasp, never have and never will.
The design is to far off from what we know as textbook, and the overall appearance is "sloppy".

                  Sorry...

                  Ben

                    Hi Jan,

                    Ben said everything.

Unfortunately there are a lot of errors and fakes in that book (as there are in most books). Whether this Spange is one of the errors is still a matter of opinion.
                    Best regards,
