    KC original or post-war?

I pickerd up a small collection of German items from an estate of a collector who collected during the 1960s. This KC was in the group but unsure of origin. There are no hallmarks anywhere on either the cross or oak leaves with exception of a small raised 'O' on back of oak leaves. Any info would be appreciated? I can try and take better pics if would help...thanks.

This is a fairly early post war B-Type Knights Cross by Steinhauer & Lück. I assume that the core is made of zinc.

Thanks for the information-the cross is non-magnetic so assume its' a zinc core? There are 2 others in the collection-both magnetic- and I'll try and get photos posted of them as well....

Can't tell from the photos, but does this have have a silvery frosting or a "painted" frosting. (looks like the silvery right now.)

Does anyone ever sell these post war crosses as post war for reasonable amounts? Ive always wanted one as a filler piece but it seems that they are in constant debate and or sold as originals at prices one bristles at knowing what they are.

Respectfully, John, without having this cross in hand, all you can "know" about it is that the frame was stamped pre-1957.

The Oak Leaf appears to have more of a flat finish...

                        Thanks for the additional comment.

The best way to photograph these is in normal (outside) light, without a flash and without glare of any kind.

The Oakleaves, being unmarked, are almost surely made of copper or brass with a plated finish. If you can get a really good (and close) photo of the front and back, it will be possible to tell you more about them.
