Hi, how are you? I suspect this is just a horrible copy due to some shoddy workmanship. I seen this in an odd antique shop.

Anyhow I would be very grateful here if someone could please provide any back up guidance. KC's are not my field since they are beyond my financial level to dabble with.

Pretty sure that one is a Souval copy from the 1960s or 1970s.

Though in rough condition, does this not look like the S&L B type incuse 800? Hard to tell details fo the core, looks off. Also looks like the cross has been apart then poorly re soldered. I van not see the dent row on the photographs, but there are bead flaws. The ring is not finished,and seems to sit very high, but it appears that the frame on each side of the ring has been filed down.

It's a Souval, with the low profile swastika, dipping '3' in 1939, smaller suspension ring and incuse '800' seen on several of their products.

Souval was Austrian.

I know this was just one of those Murphy's law deals in full effect and just to good to be true by my gut telling me so in the first palce.

On a positive note though I'm about glad I didn't have to go back to this shop to trouble this old timer to re-open the display case. It took him about 5 minutes to do so "no BS!" He was looking like mummy dust (bless his tired soul).

BTW; the asking price is $1,000.-- another bad sign, but then again sometimes these treasures are lurking around.

I think great bargain finds at antique shops are sadly very much a thing of the past, now that we have the internet nearly all shop owners will know exactly what they are selling and will have the current market value on their stock if not more.
