Very nice indeed, Is it marked?
I really like the shape of the beveled swastika and the distinctive '3's on these crosses.

            Regards - Danny

                  Nice Lauer!
I think I was the lucky one that got the one that you speak of. Mine is unmarked as well.

No need for a mark on your cross. It's fine!

I agree. Marks are very overrated: a small number stamped on what is usually an inferior-quality, later-war cross. Why not get the good, early, unmarked examples instead? They're almost always nicer...
                        Best regards,
                        Streptile

Trevor, you could easily change the course of collecting with statements like this. I can now forsee a move from marked to unmarked crosses (your words carry weight in this and other WAF forums). But I happen to agree with you, wholeheartedly. The nicest 1939 cross I have ever owned is an unmarked K&Q. It's semi-gloss paint is much nicer than the later-war flat black paint. And, the frame has taken on the nicest patina I have ever seen on any iron cross. Seams are tight, and hand-finishing is wonderful. Here, take a look...

                            Respectfully,
                            Robert
