    Hi

Here is my early 2nd class spange, anyone who know the maker of this one?

              presumed Juncker

This'll get me into trouble but, I'm not 100% sure on the originality of this type. I prefer examples with the thinner viens, and die flaws...
              many may disagree
              regards

I'm with Jon on this one.
For the time being Ill give it the benefit of doubt.
The base-metal looks very red, like copper?
Or is it the light or the pics??

All Juncker clasps that I have seen with wear were made of brass.
Here's mine, if you compare it well, you can see differences in the head (beak) and your swas appears to be very smooth, while mine shows the hand-finishing.

Apart from that I have a hard time believing that Juncker made 2 for the short period that the clasp was made...

I'm certainly no expert and there maybe differences between them. here's mine and I can see a few areas different as well.
We'll see what the experts say.

Hmm, your's is one of those that I seriously doubt, Greg.

                      (Sorry)

Had one of these a few months ago and sent it back because it was no good IMO...
But that is just MY opinion, there are other collectors that do like these clasps.

on the other hand: Juncker must have had about 5 or 6 dies to crank out so many , slightly different clasps.

I do like the one I show, but even that can be a copy .

                        Hi Ben,
Here's mine again, before it was mine??
                        Thanks!

                          Here's one of mine:

I got one more, and can try to take some new pictures tomorrow, if the light is good...lots of snow here.

                            Hi Greg,

I know that Trevor likes this one, didn't know it was the same clasp.
Doesn't make any difference either, I told Trevor a while back that I didn't like it.

I have the biggest problem with the eagles head, especially the beak....

But, again: maybe I am completely wrong

That's right -- one of our few disagreements .
