    IMPORTANT! Juncker RK (or not)?

This cross is listed on an auction site (closing tonight!) and is said to be a "small '2' " Juncker RK.

I have two observations about this cross and would appreciate your imput.

First, the beading on the upper right side (when viewed) arm does not have the anomaly shown in Dietrich's book at page 64. Here's a comparison, with a normal Juncker RK shown (on white background) and the auction cross (on red background).

Second, the inner corners next to the swastika appear to have the cross-hatching spaced incorrectly.

Question: Is this a variant Juncker or is this the (very rarely talked about in public) copy?

          Hi Leroy

The core looks pretty reasonable, but there are many other anomalies with the frame that would preclude me from considering this a variant made by Juncker..

Yes, Marshall, I saw that, too, but was unable to get as good a close-up as you!

This is clearly a (the very clever) fake.

Leroy you probably just saved someone a LOT of money
Just as an FYI, here's my non-mag Juncker...the fake is not even close on the frame....
                Thanks!

Let's hope so. The bidding was at $4100 the last time I looked.

This is a very dangerous fake. Thanks for posting.
                    Best regards,

Trevor - This is an extremely dangerous fake which has the core dates down virtually exactly. If parts of the beading had been "buffed" a little more cleverly, very, very many collectors would be fooled.

Just as a note, the '2' is also almost exact, although the '800' stamp is a bit narrow.

This auction still has an half hour to go and I have seen no new bids since the first post here. Someone, however, is in the lead position and will buy this cross tonight.

At $7013.85 now, with "auto-refresh" triggering additional 10 minute extensions on bidding..........

holy s* for someone paid the money for it ...

                            A very very good copy!

There were 14 bids and the price of $7013.85 included the commission.
