Sharing images of my Iron Corss 2nd class with its cellophane LDO packet

The packet and cross are unmarked. I removed the cross from the packet as it was tearing the packet up a bit; I don’t think too many of these cello packets could have survived, they seem to be pretty fragile.

There is some old scotch tape on the packet.

The cross has picked up some tarnish and deterioration on the plating from being in the packet for many years

Unless it was nighttime, or the weather was bad, and you were running out of gas - then it was a sweaty nightmare, like a monkey f*ing a skunk.

The only thing that I can attest to about the cross and packet being together is that, originally I acquired three of them, each package held an Iron Cross 2nd class, which were unused, but aged condition; two of the packets were in various stages of degradation; I sold or traded the worst two and kept the set you see.
