    help on a cloth DKIG

    Hi,

I wanted to add a cloth DK to my collection for long, I finally decided to buy one.

    I have this one

    on hold for me.

It looks good to me but need some confirmation because not my main collecting area..

    thanks

    Michael

I think you should do it the other way round; first check it, then have it put on hold...

The cross itself looks OK, but this is the only one I have seen that is marked this way on the reverse.

Anyone else have one in their collection marked like this one? This mark can be found on some combat awards.

The mark may very well be a post-war mark.

Was briefly discussed in the past...my photos were taken when this one was being sold by a dealer from AZ.

                thanks for the opinions.

I don't know if "FLL 43" is a proper mark for a DKIG.

FLL 43 is found on different badges from FLL, but on a cloth DKIG ?
Why putting a such poswar mark on an Original one ? because of it's condition, it is nice w/o this mark.
                But everything is possible...

any one else can confirm anything ?

                Michael

                  Hello Michael -

It may or may not be postwar. I certainly can't say for sure.

I have activley collected cloth German Crosses for several years. And this particular example is the ONLY one that I have seen.

In the end, like what you collect. Collect what you like.

There are cloth versions with all kinds of stamps, stickers and addresses around. That does not make them bad. This could be a maker mark, a trader's mark, a shop inventory stamp or whatever. I really don't know but it does not concern me a little bit.

It is w/o question a maker mark, or it is intended to be.

There is only one ink stamp that I am familiar with on cloth DKs. Only two paper stamps. Do you show more in your book?

There are at least two "maker's" stamps which I show in the book. Plus there are theses normal price tags and I also show one tag with a distributor or so ...
If this FLL is a maker mark it should be Friedrich Linden Lüdenscheid. I doubt this company was producing the cloth version since this is a completely different line of production. Maybe a distributor mark or whatever. Interesting without doubt!
