I noticed member stjub has a WW2 EK2 for sale. I am not an association member so I cannot post directly in his listing.
But I wanted to let you guys know, that his EK2 has a maker's mark 24. I recently bought a marked 24 cross, and it is my favorite Iron Cross of the three I own. My marked 24 cross does not have a ribbon, and it's even slightly rusted.
But it's still my favorite. It is a bit heavier than the other crosses, even without the ribbon.
If my cross is any indication of maker 24, this would be a fine piece for your collection. I do not remember maker 24's real name, it's one of the longest German words I've ever seen! I'm sure someone here knows the maker.
If I had the spare money I would buy it myself!
Cheers
