I am the seller of this cross, and I would really like to learn how you can determine that this is a postwar cross? I got this lot from a good source, if this is postwar, I will eat it...

Hi,

the reason why i put this cross in a thread, is because; first, i am a newbie, second, Souval is not well-know to me ..
All i know is that it 'feels' different to my others crosses ... the (silver ?) ribbon on the cross feels flat, smooth .. also the swastika is flatter ..
weight is 20,5 gr

I join the WAF to learn and specially to avoid the Postwar-crosses .. so please, needs help here .. It is very confused for me .. al I know is that i don't want postwar between my wartime crosses.

It appears to have the beading flaw on the 12 o'clock arm attributed to a wartime Souval. So I vote

Hi Johan,

None of those things is a problem by itself. Wartime Souvals have these characteristics.
I agree that Souval crosses "feel" a little different from standard EK2s -- also the quality is often lower.

Looks like a nice pre May 45 Souval to me.
