Was the first post sarcasm? The second poster said fake. Why do you say fake? The seller (who I would rather not name) claims it has passed all the tests and is 100 percent authentic. I hope more people can chime in and give their opinions as well.

I 've never seen a wreath with just 8 notches under the date...

So who is the authority around here? What are the foolproof tests to determine its authenticity? Seems to me one never really knows if these medals are real or fake.

This is a fake. The wreath is not Juncker, nor are the rivets. My studied friend Bogdan was right as always!

What jumped out to my novice eye was that this looks like the type that surfaced about 5 years ago with "high" sitting swastika.

If you need more, it also appears the swastika sits too close to the wreath on the 4 o'clock arm and it appears too much red is showing on one side and is non-existent on the other.

I personally find it the easiest to compare this piece with a genuine Juncker since it is marked as such. There are only five proven manufacturers and it is not very tough to memorize the criteria of these five. Everything else is not necessarily a fake but at least not one of the 98% of awarded examples.
The rules regarding a high swastika or a non-cenetered wreath are not very helpful (please, no offense intended!) since that are legitimate characteristica of genuine pieces also. Especially the Juncker have nearly always a wreath with is off center.

Just study the five original companies (actually only four since Zimmermann and Klein are nearly identical). A very easy thing to do.
