    S&L Oaks big and small

    Hi,
A pic of a standard 800 set of oaks with the bulge next to the stem, along side a larger unmarked set which Ive identified as S&L with the bulge now removed and which I belive was made for a short time in the late 1950,s.
    Anyone else seen one?

        Hi Leroy,
Ive got 8 sets of S&L oaks,a couple with swords included. They all have at least one feature in common.Thats how I was able to identify this large set.
        Cheers

          Thanks, Franco, for the information.

What feature did you see that they had in common? Is it possible to take larger photos with more details, front and back? It's always enjoyable to learn about these things.

          Best,
          Leroy

Well for me, the small one marked 800 is an obvious casting and small because of this. The other doesn't look like any S&L I've ever seen.

Do you believe that any of those is original? Honestly?

                        Hi Franco,

Do you believe that the smaller set was made during the war?

I'm no expert on oakleaves, I'm just curious as I can't quite tell from your initial post if that is your belief.

                        Thank you for your help.
                        Best regards,

I hope that no one would believe either of these are wartime (and I don't think Franco does, but he can speak for himself).

                            Hi,
The smaller type of oaks were made up to 1957 when the die flaw was removed, but the size remained the same up to the present day.
                            Cheers

So they were made "up to 1957," but starting when? Not wartime?
