EK2´s " OVERSIZE " opinions please ???

Very nice medals. Only seems to be strange dor me the bubbles in one of them (beside the reverse numbers). Any explanation about the origin?

It looks to me like it may be a build up of corrosion under the paint.

However, here is an image of the 1939 date on one of my übergroße crosses - there are some noticable 'burst bubbles' in the paint (which has not been touched up).
