    Rogues Gallery

Here is my gallery of Cross fakes. I have no idea why I started this little collection, but it sure is interesting.
    • Knight's Cross. We've seen a few of these lately with different, more convincing frames. In fact Weitze sold one as a "postwar S&L" not too long ago. It's good quality, 3-piece, magnetic. Marked L/12 and 800. The OLS are also "properly" marked for Godet. This one was a gift that I got last year. Even the ribbon is bad. Overall a pretty good fake.
    • My Robot Fake EK2 Spange. I got fooled on this one -- bought it on eBay in the '90s for about $50.
    • Schinkel EK2. Also got fooled on this one. eBay again, same time. Cost about $90. Three-piece, magnetic, not too bad looking.
    • Raptor EK1 Spange. Bought it from a fellow forum member.
    • '113' Fake EK2. A decent fake that a friend recently gifted me. Three-piece, magnetic.

    Let's see your high-end fakes.

Cool. I ended up picking up a fake Mother's Cross a few months ago and have it in my collection of original items but as a fake. The cross is very well constructed, but still a fake given the subtleties. I will probably sell it off as a fake at some point. Interesting idea to collect fakes - I like your little grouping. -Ger

Fake Mc's has been around for a long time now.

Fortunate they are fairly easy to spot due to very poor enamel work, amongst other poor details.

You should post these in the "Crosses of the Wehrmacht Fakes" Forum.

Trust me on this they have been facking EK2s and Mothers crosses since Ken Lane had them for sale in the Shot Gun News since at least 1960.
