    Ritterkreuz (RK) Ribbon

    Hey Gents,

I'm thinking about purchasing what appears to be a mint-unissued RK ribbon. This is not my field of collecting and I would welcome every thought or comment you have. Unfortunately I cannot physically handle this item before I buy it, so I'm having a hard time verifying the correct details associated with RK ribbons. The length is 22cm or 8 5/8" and is 1 3/4" or 45 mm wide, with the white section being 5.9 mm wide (thread count not listed). The physical details look good to me? But I'll leave it to someone with more experience. I want to make sure 100% it is pre-1945 and not a possible 57' example. . . or worse . . . a repro. These seem to be faked alot!

See attachment. These are the only three pictures listed. Thank you!

From those pics impossible to tell. You need close up pics. Very close up to see the construction better.

      Corey,

This thread offers a bit more detail on what to look for:

That's what I thought Rich, looks like I'll have to just jump on it and see it in person. Thanks mate.

Thanks Eric. Looks like I'll have to buy it and handle it in person in order to get a definitive answer.

That would be one heck of a gamble due to the prices these command.. better make sure there is a solid inspection time...
