    question on juncker KC's

So i've just started collecting again after a four year break from the hobby. I stopped after what i had strived and worked for so long for i thought i finally had, a KC. Only to find out it was just another fake and the dealer i bought it from was too. Unfortunately, at the time i purchased it, I hadn't understood just how valuable this website really is/was to the collector.

Anyway enough of that. So what i'm working on again is a KC. I'm just trying to feel out where the market on these awards stands. I saw the last one on the e-stand (65 K&Q) go for around $6500, give or take. So, what I'm hoping to find is an "800" marked juncker that i'd like with a COA. I'm not necessarily looking for one with an L/12 etc. Any info is much appreciated. Thanks.

Be prepared to pay considerably more for an original Juncker than for any K&Q.

      Kc

Bob is right, be prepared to pay considerably more, as in a few thousand more. FYI-A nice condition K&Q with ribbon is probably going to cost more than $6500 too.

i think it is not uncommon that a good Juncker (no matter if it only was stamped "800") would cost 25-30% more than a standard K&Q...

like i said all i'm lookin for is a standard 800 juncker or even a K&Q and preferably worn conditon, not mint. Theres something about them to me that just screams "been there". I'd like to stay somwhere around 8 to 10 thousand. I hoping not to have to go over ten but will if i find something i just can't live without. Is this reasonable or am i not even in the right ball park as far as pricing?

You will find a K&Q for under $10K.

As I have a few & bought them all recently. If you don't care about the maker & aren't looking for minty. IMO the lowest valued RK's out there are typically the K & Q.
I believe a couple recently sold on estand at reasonable values.
                Good luck!

Just keep surfing the estand, they do turn up.. Don't just settle on one, just to have one! Hold out for exactly what you want. Someone beat me to a fantastic unmarked Juncker about a year ago on the estand, so if the price is right, cross is right, I recommend you move pretty fast, I'm almost embarrassed to say that I try to check the estand every hour, sometimes every half hour, sometimes every fifteen minutes, help!

thanks alot guys. this really helps. I'm just looking for an idea of what i'm gonna have to drop. And no i'm not looking for a minty cross by no means, i want one with character. Honestly if i had a minty one i would just get rid of it for a worn one. I'll know which one this is when i find it. Thanks so much for the input.

by the way how is the turn out for these things at the show of shows or even the max? I'll probably go to these to look if i haven't found one by then. right now though, i trust the forum more than any show. after what happened i'm extremely nervous of dealers.

And you will find them there, but be warned: most of the "deals" (if there are any) happen in the hotel rooms or with pre-arranged ("I'll bring it to the show")
situations. Every once in a while, you can get lucky, but you've got to really hustle and look at everything.

Very wise, if I may say so. Most dealers would sell their mother without blinking their eyes. And even worse: a faked mother!
