I believe Ben has (or had) an L/58 pinback that is thought to be wartime.
    Best regards,

That would be a delight to see. Do you remember if it had a brass core, glossy paint?

Man-O-Man Robert! That brass core cross is really killer to see!
Best of luck getting to the bottom of this mystery!

          Hi Robert,

the one in my collection has no paint-loss, but is non-magnetic.
Here's the one I currently have on the E-Stand, pretty well worn.
          It's non-magnetic, with a brass core.
Will post the other one later today, since I don't have pics at hand.

              You're welcome, Robert!

here's the one from my collection, and I don't have a reason to believe it is post-war.

Thank you, Ben, once again for posting the photos. I like the paint on the core of your cross. Mine is very glossy, which makes me wonder if all is well. Everything about your cross is like mine, except for the gloss of my paint. At any rate, your cross is very nice. Thank you once again.

Robert, the "eggshell" finish is what I would expect on a Souval, but I also have seen Souval ek1 with glossy paint like yours.

But glossy cores can be found from time to time.
I have a round3 ek2 with pretty glossy paint, and an unmarked schickle ek1 as well.

If there are no traces of a repaint, or oil on the core, I wouldn't worry to much.

                  best regards,
                  Ben

                    Thanks Ben,

No, no traces of repaint that I can tell. All looks untouched to my 'trained' 10X eye.
