    bringing back this thread.
    I am maybe the only one but my favorite Maker is "Deumer", those are nice & this maker offer probably the most interesting range of variation (I ever liked studying variations) ...

    A only wanted to had favorite EK is very different to favorite Maker

        Interesting and most informative thread. I think for clarification, "premier" is more psychological than aesthetic and a little more difficult to define in this context. But now I know that Godet, Junker and Deschler are considered the "premier" makers in the eyes of a majority of collectors.

        Now I can go out and get one of each of those makers. Why? I honestly don't know. I guess it's one of those undefined characteristics that make a collector a collector.

          Personally, I think it's a combination of which awards a firm made, and the quality of what they produced. The list of firms authorized to make the higher grades - RK's, OL's, OL&S, grand cross, and diamonds all fit the bill as they had the approval to make these prestigious awards.
