Thanks Robert :
I went through what I had and even my 23 , which happend to have the other core . The forum archive - which has some cross pictures - had one that looked like a match and a further thread search with a maker brought up the different cores .
I especially like this particular Meybauer core with its long-nose '1'. I also have it in an 'L/13'-marked EKII. Looking through the older threads one can see that Meybauer had many cores for their crosses. They would have done well in investing in a new frame as well, agree?
Discussing with you in the past the various methods of frosting the EK frames it appears Meybauer used the dip/oxidation process to achieve their frosted appearance. It was really a poor choice because it left the beading so void of detail. The beautiful beading was all but ruined, and unpleasing to the naked eye. If only they had chosen to finish their crosses as did one of the makers such as Zimmermann, etc.
