Here is a nice picture of a field award ceremony of the ek 2 towards a grouping of soldiers , it must have been made after a rather heavy battle => look at the soldiers that are lined up and see howmuch ek's the officer is holding in his hands.

Also nice to see is that the soldiers already have there buttonhole of the tunic open to receive the EK .
