Not original, meaning not made in the 1939-1945 period.

Hi guys, thanks for your reply but not one of these DKiG are for sale because I wil keep this cross in my colection.

Can now we argue the point of members of this forum who say this not an original on the both I have shown you this today.
Please give me enough arguemntation on this topic.

I think it will be great for anyone to learn the knowlege of the truth.

              Kind regards.

                  BH,

Welcome to the Forum! The best thing about joining is that there is an almost endless amount of information that is available at your fingertips, if you have the inquisitiveness, time and patience to learn.

In addition to heeding Dietrich's shameless advice to buy his excellent book , you might want to try "searching" the specific "Crosses of the Wehrmacht" Forum with terms like "dkig deschler" or "dkig mm1" to find other threads where you can compare your example to others that have received positive feedback. Focus on areas such as the date, the wreath, key die flaws or assembly marks, the rivets, the hardware (hinge, hinge plate, catch and pin), dimensions, weights, evidence of materials and quality of construction. You will very quickly find the discrepancies that are causing the negative feedback on your two examples.

Your picture-taking skills are excellent and you have covered all the right places to look. There is nothing better than making the comparisons with your piece in hand, while referring to pictures you will find on the Forum or in a Book.

The reason the question was asked:
May I ask you sold you the two German Crosses you just showed?
is so that other members can be warned of this (new?) source of fakes and avoid spending their hard-earned money. Hopefully, you will be able to return your two DKiGs and wait to find the right one - which you can also do on the Forum, by visiting The Militaria E-Stand Forum section http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...splay.php?f=47

                  Good luck and welcome again,

                  Eric

I would not keep this in your collection if I were you, it should be sent back to where it came from.

I understand these things can be a shock for a new collector but I don't think there is a point to argue as you will not get a positive response from any experienced collector here on the forum. There are many things wrong with this. For an obvious start just look at the wreath, if you compare with a known original it is nothing like it. Also from the finish it looks like it was made yesterday. If you are buying expensive pieces like this I would strongly suggest you do your research first and not just accept whoevers word it is that your getting these from. He either does not know what he is doing or is a major crook.
