Unfortunately, I agree. The core is a good match, too.

We're here only to help you come to a knowledge of your cross, and I think we did just that. If you're happy with it, and the 'story' as well, then so be it.

Whatever the story, I don't think there can be any doubt that the frame on your cross is the same as the example shown by Robert.

                    Regards - Danny

Those are all very good questions, EK-Collector. And, they deserve educated answers and not just opinions. I personally have never seen this frame on any period cross, never. To the contrary I see it with many fake stampings (16, 84, 113, etc.) Also, the cores we see in this frame design are all fakes, never seen in original period crosses either. I would say the chances of this frame being an original period item is slim, very slim.

BTW, my example is 18.5 grams.

It can be very difficult, just joining a forum, to discover that some of the items in your possession may not be period. Approximately 20% of my small collection turned out to be fake or questionable when I joined here. But ultimately it is a very rewarding experience to vet your collection, concentrate on the good stuff, and learn all about these items.

Please post more of your collection as time permits, and (again) welcome to the forum .
                            Best regards,

I certainly will. It came as part of a grouping from a member here about five years ago.
