    DKiG in cloth

    Good or bad?

With my limited knowledge, the stitching on the swaz, and the wreath itself look a bit off, to me....

The GOOD news is that I'm frequently wrong.....

Is there a close up of the date You can post Don? If I were looking for a cloth DK I would look elswhere, Bob made some very good observations!
As you know there are alot of good cloth examples out there! this has a chance, however the wreath details look poor. I would for my collection want a slam-dunk example.

        Don,

I would agree with Bob's assessment on the wreath; it just doesn't look like the "accepted" type, particularly the date area.

Your example is the top one:

            Cloth DK

            Hello Don,
I have to admit I am on the fence with this one too. There are things I like and things I don't like (such as the wreath). I would like to see it in hand.

            Regards,
            Jody

I dont believe this to be an original cloth DK.

Swastika is not sewn such that the corners are squared. I don't like the looks of the starburst.

Also, it appears that the pins that hold the wreath in place are round. I never like round pins on a cloth DK. Further reinforced by lack of detail on the wreath.

                Just my opinion.

Thanks to all that answered. If it is not right it must be wrong.

I forgot to add that I don't care for the white field inside the wreath. Wrong material.

Very well done if it is a repro.......I'm always wary of a DK that does not have the die flaws in the date.

I'd like to see some more opinions.

                      Thanks,
                      Mike

It can be found here: http://www.ordensammler.com

These guys are the Staegemiers of Imperial and 90%+ of that stuff is fake or altered. I guess they are branching out. Beware.

                          Hello there,

The white backing is indeed odd looking and the wreath is either really early before the die flaw was pronounced or a complete fake. I'd wait around for a more accepted version.
