Ist Class Iron Cross Marked 4 on pin

    Ist Class Iron Cross Marked 4 on pin

    I found this cross laying around the house a few days ago, the pin is marked 4 and there a small circle on the top arm where it looks like the frame was for a ek2? Could the Cross be a original example? Any help i can get would be great.

      The circle at the top of the frame is a mark used by the jewelers to attach a jump ring dead center on a Second Class Iron Cross. Ergo, the obverse frame on your EK1 was actually meant for an EK2... an interesting characteristic of your individual cross. My EK1 mm4 doesn't have that!

      Ooops, I realize now that you already knew that.... nice cross BTW
